Finite Foster Wallace
I have a confession to make: I have never read a single book by David Foster Wallace. While I realise this would not impress a hipster, I have decided to rectify this rather tragic character flaw by taking up the Infinite Summer challenge this winter and working my way through Infinite Jest. I’ve been meaning to grab a copy of the book forever, and when he died last year the resulting clamour had me searching Canty’s for a copy. I think I got distracted by shiny baubles on the shelves though, because I never ended up with the book. So, between now and the 21st I’m going to find a copy and clear my current reading list. Anyone else want to give it a crack?

I’d be down for giving the Postmodern Doorstop a whirl – a friend recommended it years ago and she has yet to fail me with a book rec. She also said it’s good to wait until you have about 6 solid hours of dead boredom to get started on the thing, but then the excellence should carry you through the rest.
