District 9, the new sci-fi film produced by Peter Jackson and directed by Neill Blomkamp (the guy that was slated to do the ‘serious’ take on the Halo franchise) looks great. The trailer has some amazing documentary style cuts that feel like something out of a BBC special report. Very gritty, very well produced and very South African. They’ve also got a neat viral campaign going with various fake sites. Consider my interest piqued.
