So, how about them Socceroos?
Tonight promises to be a very long, very engaging, very stressful and entirely action-packed evening. I’ve booked leave for the first two hours of work tomorrow, and I’m going to start screaming at midnight, and I’m not planning to stop until we’re through to the eight. The score? One nil to Oz, and that’s not su(u)s at all.

Peep! Peep! Peep! No sooner had the ball hit the back of the net than the referee blew the final whistle. What a sensational finish to the game. Lucas Neill looks gobsmacked – it was a soft enough penalty. Grosso was dribbling in from the left, Neill foolishly comitted himself to the tackle and the Italian committed himself to falling over in as extravagant a fashion as possible. The referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Going so close only to be shafted by a last-minute Italian winner – you’ll get over it my Aussie friends. It’s all part of the big learning curve in international football. And it’s really, really, really funny for the rest of us …
Ha. Ha. Ha. I'm laughing. Ho ho ho.

This is more agreeable.
Yeah, great call ref:

I'd love to know which of these you think he's guilty of. Oh, wait, what about this: "Any simulating action anywhere on the field, which is intended to deceive the referee, must be sanctioned as unsporting behaviour."
Yeah, that's true. I think this cup has really ignited a passion for football in Aus that's been a long time coming and I really, really, hope that one stupid call doesn't defuse that.
On the bright side, this clip on youtube is hilarious.
I think Lucas Neill was supposed to dig a shallow grave in the 5secs after he missed the ball to allow Grosso to keep running on a nice flat surface made of his head….
