The son of Clunk

On Sunday whilst browsing around in Akihabara I finally caved in and bought a successor for The Clunkatron, my trusty old 2 mega pixel IXUS that died spectacularly a month or so back. I wasn’t sure whether to go all out and get something awesome or hold back and wait until just before I returned home before laying down the fat cash for the newest model available. I decided to play it safe and went for option number one by picking up a second hand IXUS from Softmap for a little under twenty thousand. The son of Clunk is a small step up, being a few models down the line from the original Clunk. It’s four mega pixels and is intimately familar, as most of the menus and interface options are identical to Clunk.

I’m very happy with it thus far. It takes really great shots and I’ve been going a little crazy playing with the long shutter options for night shots which I’m sure will be allow for some really cool photos once I get my head around it.

And now, a moment’s silence while we remember (and retire) a good friend.
