Amagasaki Crash

This is probably the best article I’ve read on the recent train accident in Japan, going into detail on some of the social pressures in Japan that probably played a big part in the train crash. Primarily, the young driver realised he was 90 seconds late and was shitting bricks about it.

In the year and a bit I’ve lived in Japan, I’ve seen late trains maybe three times, once because of an earthquake and twice because of typhoons. When there is a late train at our local station, the station master calls our school to apologise, and it is written on the board, even if it’s just a few minutes late.

I feel so sorry for the poor kid that was driving that train, because he was in a completely lose-lose situation. Unfortunately, he picked the way out that ended up costing other people’s lives, rather than sucking it up and taking the shafting he would have received at the end of the day.

im sure she misses us to death haha. im doing good so far and loving what i got. as u told me the uni is totally different and awesome like whoa!! but honestly, i envy aki…having an american hottie bf must be lotsa fun….:b lol
i feel sorry for ppl died from this accident. my frd’s two frds died and they were as young as me. only 18 adn they just started their new life in uni…too young to die..

Apparently 2 students from Tisha Morosi’s school were killed and lots more are still in hospital – they were on their way to Universal Studios for a school trip.
