Tajima’s beautiful beach
Moroyose is a tiny fishing village in the far, far north of Hyogo prefecture. If you look at this map (thanks Sabine) you’ll see Kobe where I live in the bottom right. Way up in the top left is Hamasaka, and Moroyose is even more westerly than that. As you can imagine it’s pretty remote and because of that it’s actually quite unspoilt.
It has the most beautiful beach I’ve seen in Japan, a little semicircle of sand nestled in between two rocky promitories covered in forest. I spent Sunday night there and had the most glorious swim early on Monday morning when the only thing keeping me company were the seagulls on the rocks.
