Renewers Conference
Well, the 3 day renewers conference for returning jets at the very schmick Portopia Hotel in Kobe was a lot less painful than expected. It was great seeing people I haven’t seen since the orientation in Tokyo at the Keio Plaza. As always hanging out with the Perth crew is a pleasure, we were really lucky to have such a sound bunch of people come over at the same time. It also seemed that the conference contained whole lot less mindfuckery and CLAIR/MEXT double-talk than previous ones, with only one session of incredible long boring official speeches and the majority of the other sessions being interesting, informative and genuniely useful. Big points to the organisers for that.
The pubcrawl was also a blast and today I’m nursing one of the largest hangovers I’ve had in recent memory. Our team of four managed to get somewhere in the realm of 80 drinks stamped on our card, although I don’t believe we actually drink that many. My recollection of the night is somewhat fuzzy around the edges, especially from the point where we started doing tequila shots in order to make up lost time running between bars.
I haven’t actually worked up the nerve to go through the photos I think I took during the night, but I think I might do that a little later. Right after I have a lie down.
