The ESS club threw a little birthday party for me yesterday which was really sweet. I opened the door to the language lab and they fired exploding ribbons directly into my face, then made me eat some truely bizarre Japanese snacks. Seaweed soaked in vinegar until it’s soggy and then dipped in sugar is the perfect birthday treat! Seriously though, it was very cool and I felt pretty special that they did it. The exchange student even made me Vegemite Sao crackers, how’s that for awesome?

I glanced at the card this morning and noticed that one of them wrote on it, “BEARD IS A LOT OF HEART!!!!”, which I’m a little worried about. I suppose it’s better than eating me arrive.

HEART! HEART! HEART!
