Erlend's Kicks
Erlend Øye’s DJ-Kicks is the best mix-cd I’ve heard in a very long time. Erlend is one half of the Kings Of Convenience, but is better know through his work on the vocals of the Royksopp tracks Poor Leno and Remind Me. The reason I think this CD is so great is that Erlend doesn’t just throw the unaltered tracks on there, mix them together, and then call it a day. Rather, he sings acapella over an instrumental track with the vocals from a different song. I’m pretty sure someone coined it “Live Remixing” and it basically turns the whole set into one big happy, boppy, super cool track.
