Moving to Moveable Type
Well, although it was nice having the old wagz columns around, I figured once the domain ran out I’d reorganise stuff a bit and pretty much start from scratch. I did some research and figure that Moveable Type was probably the best solution as it’s fast, flexible and very customisable. After the ever reliable Zac was called on to write a file importer, I’ve pulled all my old data from the columns across and I’m ready to roll. The only slight problem is that the columns did have any fields for Category or even Title for that matter, so it basically meant that I’ve had to go through the entire database and categorise each post from scratch. Now that that’s done, it’s a matter of tidying up the myriads of broken links, horrible code and stuff that doesn’t work any more. Joy of joys.
Anyway, I hope to kick together a really slick design over the weekend and really start pushing the journal in preparation for J-Day which happens August the 2nd.
